FAQs

Common questions

Everything you need to know before booking. If your question is not here, just get in touch.

Yes. Every new student starts with a free 15-minute introductory call. This is a no-obligation conversation where we find out about your goals, assess your current level, and answer any questions you have. There is no payment required at this stage and no pressure to book.

All levels from complete beginner through to C1 advanced. This includes:

  • Complete beginners with no prior French experience
  • GCSE French (all exam boards)
  • A Level French
  • Leaving Certificate French (Higher and Ordinary Level)
  • AP French Language and Culture
  • DELF and DALF exam preparation (A2 through B2)
  • Adult learners at any stage

This depends on your starting level, your goal, and how much practice you do between sessions. Most students notice a real difference in confidence and accuracy within four to six sessions. For exam students, measurable grade improvement is typically seen within six to ten sessions of consistent work.

Weekly sessions produce faster results than fortnightly ones because the language stays fresh and momentum builds. We will set clear goals from the first session so progress is always visible.

It is rarely too late. Focused one-to-one tutoring is significantly more efficient than classroom learning because every minute of the session is directed at exactly what your child needs. Students who feel behind often make faster progress in tutoring than those who are keeping up in class, simply because the gaps are identified and fixed directly.

The earlier you start the better, but even students who begin tutoring six to eight weeks before their exam can make a meaningful difference to their grade with the right focus.

All sessions are delivered online via video call. You will need a device with a camera and microphone — a laptop, tablet or phone all work. Sessions are 45 minutes and run at a scheduled time that suits you.

Resources, exercises and notes are shared digitally during and after each session. No printing or physical materials required.

Yes. Students from Australia, Ireland, the United States, Canada and elsewhere are all welcome. Sessions are online so location is not a barrier. We will agree a session time that works across your time zone during the introductory call.

Prices are shown in GBP with approximate equivalents in AUD, USD and EUR for reference.

Sessions cancelled with more than 24 hours notice can be rescheduled at no charge. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be charged in full. Weekly subscribers can cancel with one week's notice at any time — there are no long-term contracts.

Payment details will be confirmed during the introductory call. We accept all major payment methods. Block bookings are paid in advance and single sessions are paid before or at the time of the lesson.
